Course description

As your child approaches adolescence, you are likely beginning to notice changes in the way your preteen perceives her/himself. At this crucial age, it’s important to equip youth with the tools to form a healthy body image, which will make them more resilient as they move into their teens, and eventually adulthood.

Led by Dr. Jillian Roberts, this course will cover the basics of how adolescent children form a ‘schema’ about themselves and how they fit into the world; the difference between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and why that matters when it comes to how kids perceive themselves; and finally, some practical strategies you can use to help foster a healthy body image in your growing preteen.
